Kimi Evelyn, a proud Milwaukee native, has been immersed in the world of dance from the earliest moments of her life. Holding a BFA in Dance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, her journey in the realm of movement and expression has taken her from the vibrant stages of North Carolina to the cultural landscapes of Panama. Post-graduation, Kimi returned to her roots, passionately contributing to her community by teaching at various studios across the greater Milwaukee area including the Studio VIA School of Dance where she has been teaching since September of 2020.
Beyond dance, she deepened her impact by attaining her yoga certification in 2021, extending her reach to places where yoga is less accessible. Kimi’s commitment to dance is unwavering, as evidenced by her role in shaping young minds through teaching at Milwaukee elementary and high schools. At the University of Wisconsin-Madison, she serves as a dance lecturer, guiding students in Advanced Contemporary within the Dance department. Kimi aspires to empower black girls and women, inspiring them to confidently navigate any space they enter through the medium of their choosing. Grateful for each opportunity, she looks forward to continuing her impactful journey, leaving an indelible mark on the world through the art of dance. She is thrilled to be a part of the Studio VIA family and excited to continue teaching the future creatives of dance.
