Shann fell in love with the Ballet after attending The Nutcracker with her Grandma at just 5 years old. After dancing at a local studio in New Berlin, she moved to the School of the Milwaukee Ballet. She was cast in numerous student parts in productions such as Copelia and The Nutcracker.
After attending the University of WI, Madison for her freshman year, Shann transferred to the University of Arizona's Dance Department to obtain her BFA in Modern Dance. During her studies, she worked with choreographers John Wilson, Nina Janek, Amy Ernst, Melissa Lowe, and Jory Hancock. Shann also worked as a dancer at Old Tucson Studios and Haunted Illusions while living in Tucson. She then moved to Los Angeles for a brief period, where she worked for Universal Studios. Shann moved back to Wisconsin to attend Marquette University, where she earned her MBA. It was at that time she auditioned for Tom Thoreson and Diane Vanderhei and joined their Modern Dance Company, Foothold Dance Performance. Shann also danced for the Milwaukee Wave's Dance team, H2O. Shann began her teaching career in 2016, and is thrilled to be part of the Studio Via team. In addition to teaching and dancing, Shann enjoys spending time with her husband and three boys. Shann is also a published writer and an ACE certified Group Fitness Instructor.
